Headed home after that:)
I was reading this book "Growing Deep in God" And learn a lot of things through this book too:)
A familiar story was told of a pastor who went to heaven, and was standing in line at the Pearly Gates. Saint Peter was there, allocating the accommodations. Before him was a bus driver, ans Peter said, "Welcome! See that 16-room mansion on the hilltop? It is yours!"
The pastor standing next in line, said to himself,"Wow, if the bus driver has a 16-room mansion on the hilltop, I can't wait for my reward."
He stepped right up to Peter, who said to him, "Ah, you are the pastor. See that little hut in the valley down there? It is yours!"
The pastor was stunned, and he blurted out, "Peter, I don't understand. All these years I gave my life to preaching, and all I get is a little hut? And this bus driver - what did he ever do to deserve a 16-room mansion in heaven?"
Peter solemnly replied, "My dear friend, when you preach, people sleep. But when this bus driver drives, the people pray!"
Well, this story is not a true story but the moral of the story is: The greatest mobilisation in Christianity is prayer mobilisation. Anyone who can mobilise the people of God to pray is doing tremendous thing in the kingdom of God.
I was inspired by the people of God who are committed in Prayers:
- Charles Simeon devoted the wee hours of morning from 4am to 8am to God
- John Wesley prayed for two hours daily. He thought prayer was his business, more than anything else.
- John Fletcher would frequently pray all night with great earnestness. His whole life was a life of prayer.
- Martin Luther was a busy but prayerful man. He said, "I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer."
- Samuel Rutherford, whose piety is deeply rich, rose at 3am daily to meet God in prayer.
- Marquis DeRenty a godly nobleman who prayed for 3 hours daily but seemed like he had just prayed for half an hour!
- Samuel Chadwick, when he prayed, he expected God to do something. 'I wished I had prayed more,' he wrote towards the end of his life, 'even if I had work less; and from the bottom of my heart, I wish I had prayed better'.
Prayer is like a journey of unhurried walk. It cannot be hurried through but with time and keeping company with God:) It's time for me to rise up in prayers! And hope you will be inspired to pray!:) I pray that God will help me and be my strength!
Wooooo! School is starting for me next week!:D I'm excited cause God is going to excite me with his greatness! And miracles in school!:) GO GO GO GRACE!:D hahha
